Duel at Dawn

Duel at Dawn is a 5-reel, 5-row Hacksaw Gaming slot with 19 fixed paylines, high volatility and a maximum win of 15,000x the bet. Its Wild West theme is built around DuelReels™, Outlaw reels and two different free-spin features. Hacksaw Gaming lists 96.30% as the highest RTP configuration, although lower RTP versions can be supplied to operators.

How Duel at Dawn works

Wins are formed across the game's 19 paylines. The main mechanic starts when a VS symbol lands in a position where expanding it would create or contribute to a winning combination. It then expands across the full reel as a wild DuelReel™. A duel determines which of two multipliers is applied to that reel, with possible values ranging from 2x to 200x. If several DuelReels contribute to the same winning combination, their multipliers are added together before being applied to the payline win.

Outlaw feature

An Outlaw symbol can also expand into a full wild reel. The Outlaw arrives with a revolver containing between one and six bullets, and the bullet count determines how many additional Wild symbols are fired onto the grid. The Outlaw reel also carries a multiplier of up to 200x that applies to winning combinations passing through it. Up to two Outlaw symbols can appear on a spin, while VS and Outlaw symbols do not land together.

Wild Wild West free spins

Landing three FS scatter symbols in the base game triggers Wild Wild West with 10 free spins. This mode retains the core DuelReels and Outlaw mechanics but increases the chances of VS and Outlaw symbols and of higher-value multipliers. During the feature, two additional FS symbols award two extra spins and three award four extra spins.

Dusk 'Til Dawn and DuelSpins

Four FS scatters trigger Dusk 'Til Dawn with 10 free spins. In this feature, players can unlock up to four DuelSpins by landing Outlaw symbols and having them fire a full six-Wild revolver. The first DuelSpin guarantees at least two VS symbols, with later DuelSpins increasing that minimum to three, four and finally five VS symbols. Each unlocked DuelSpin also adds three free spins. VS symbols appear in this bonus only during the DuelSpins.

RTP, volatility and maximum win

BestCasinoSA records the highest published RTP configuration at 96.30%. Because Hacksaw Gaming supplies alternative RTP configurations, the percentage shown inside a real-money casino can be lower and should be checked in that operator's game information. Duel at Dawn is a high-volatility slot, meaning results can be uneven and larger feature-driven wins may be separated by losing or smaller-win stretches. The published maximum win is 15,000x the bet; that is a theoretical ceiling rather than an expected result.
