The Kingbets favourite team bonus gives eligible football bettors a Bonus Bet after a qualifying losing cash bet involving the club they have selected as their favourite team. The percentage is applied to the qualifying stake, but the original losing stake is still lost. The promotion therefore offsets only a small part of a qualifying loss.
How to set your favourite team
The promotion depends on having a favourite football team selected on your Kingbets account. Use the Favourite Team feature available in your account and save the club you want associated with the promotion before placing qualifying bets.
Once selected, that team remains your favourite until you change it. Under the current terms, you can change the selection every seven days by deleting the existing favourite and saving a new one. If you plan to use the promotion, check that the correct club is displayed before placing the wager rather than assuming a previous selection is still active.
Which bets qualify for the Kingbets favourite team bonus?
A qualifying wager must be a cash-funded losing bet with a stake of at least R80 and must involve the selected favourite team in the way required by the promotion.
For a single, the qualifying bet is tied to the favourite team's match. For multiples, at least one selection must come from the favourite team's match. The number of selections then determines the reward rate.
Single bet: 5%
A qualifying losing single earns a Bonus Bet equal to 5% of the stake.
Example: Stake R100 in cash on a qualifying favourite-team single. If it loses, 5% of R100 is R5, so the resulting Bonus Bet is R5.
Two-selection multiple: 7%
A qualifying losing two-leg multiple earns 7% of the stake, provided at least one selection is from the favourite team's match.
Example: A R200 qualifying two-selection multiple loses. The reward is 7% × R200 = R14 Bonus Bet.
Three-selection multiple: 10%
A qualifying losing three-selection multiple earns 10% of the stake when the favourite-team condition is met.
Example: A R500 qualifying three-leg multiple loses. The reward is 10% × R500 = R50 Bonus Bet.
Adding selections only to chase a larger percentage also changes the wager and its risk. The promotion should not be treated as a reason to increase a stake or make a bet more difficult.
When is the Bonus Bet awarded?
The current terms state that the reward is awarded after the qualifying bet has settled. A winning bet does not generate the loss-based reward.
Returned, cancelled or annulled bets do not qualify. This matters for postponed or abandoned matches: if the wager is ultimately returned or cancelled rather than settled as a loss, it does not meet the promotion's loss requirement.
What happens to the original stake?
The original cash stake is not returned. If a R500 qualifying three-selection multiple loses and produces a R50 Bonus Bet, the R500 cash stake remains lost. The player receives the R50 promotional stake only.
This distinction is important because “10% back” can sound like conventional cash cashback. Here, the reward is a Bonus Bet and should not be valued as if Kingbets returned 10% of the loss directly to the withdrawable cash balance.
How can the Bonus Bet be used?
The supplied promotion terms state that the Bonus Bet can be used on live or pre-match sports and do not state a restriction on bet type, market or odds in the promotion record we verified.
The reward expires after three days, so check the expiry in your account rather than leaving it unused. Promotion conditions can be updated, and the live Kingbets account should show the reward available to you.
Exclusions and bets that do not qualify
Several common bet types or settlement outcomes are excluded:
- Returned, cancelled or annulled bets do not qualify.
- A full or partial Cash Out disqualifies the wager.
